Why Hocking Hills for a Bachelor or Bachelorette

The Nashville bachelorette and the Vegas bachelor trip have their place. But more groups are trading neon for nature — not because they want to rough it, but because a private cabin on 50 acres with a hot tub, fire pit, and zero noise ordinance is genuinely a better time than a bottle-service table. You set the schedule. Nobody's competing with strangers for space.

Hocking Hills delivers this without requiring a flight. Most of Ohio's population is within two hours. The cabin inventory is huge — from 4-person romantic retreats to 30-person lodges — and the activity list has gotten surprisingly long: zipline canopy tours, horseback riding, glass-blowing workshops, escape rooms, axe throwing, kayaking, and a winery tour that picks you up and drops you off at your cabin.

Sample Weekend Itinerary

Friday — Arrive & Settle In

4–6 PM: Cabin Check-In

Stock up in Logan on the way in. Most cabins have full kitchens, grills, and enough counter space for a serious charcuterie spread.

7 PM: Bonfire & Hot Tub

Fire pit, drinks, hot tub rotation. Most cabins come with firewood or you can order delivery. This is the warm-up round.

Saturday — The Main Event

9 AM: Morning Hike

Old Man's Cave to Cedar Falls loop — manageable even with a mild hangover. Ash Cave is paved and wheelchair-accessible if the group needs a gentler option.

12 PM: Lunch in Logan

Chef Moe's on Main, Brewery 33, or Millstone BBQ. Keep it casual — the afternoon is where it gets interesting.

2 PM: Winery Tour or Ziplines

Cork & Tap Excursions runs 4- and 6-hour door-to-door winery charters. Or hit Hocking Hills Canopy Tours for 30+ ziplines including a 50 mph SuperZip.

7 PM: Group Dinner & Party

Hire a caterer to the cabin, or reserve the group space above Brewery 33. Then back to the cabin for the real party.

Sunday — Wind Down

10 AM: Brunch & Checkout

Cabin breakfast, one last hot tub session, group photos by the fire pit. Home by early afternoon.
