What This Site Does
Hocking Hills Venues is an independent directory of event venues in the Hocking Hills region of southeastern Ohio. We catalog every bookable venue — from elopement cabins to 300-guest barns — with standardized data so you can actually compare them: capacity, on-site lodging, indoor/outdoor options, and what kinds of events each space is designed for.
When you submit an inquiry through our venue request form, we route it only to participating venues that appear to match what you’re looking for. You describe the event once instead of cold-calling a long list yourself.
Why It Exists
If you've tried to find a venue in Hocking Hills, you already know the problem. The tourism association's directory is membership-gated and thin on details. The national wedding sites scatter the region across five different town searches with conflicting data. One listing says a venue holds 135 guests. Another says 250. Neither tells you how many people can sleep on-site — which matters more in Hocking Hills than anywhere else, because the region's defining feature is the "wedding weekend" where everyone stays together.
This directory exists to fix that. Every venue profile uses the same fields. Data conflicts are flagged and verified. And the one detail that matters most in this market — on-site lodging capacity — is front and center on every card.
How We Make Money
Transparency matters. We are not paid by venues to rank them higher or feature them more prominently in the directory. Our primary revenue comes from connecting qualified event leads with venues. We may also earn commissions from affiliate partnerships with lodging and travel services. We do not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage or venue placement in our guides.
Who Runs This
Hocking Hills Venues is operated by Andy Smigelski under Scout Theory LLC. Andy grew up in the Hocking Hills region and builds web properties focused on the area, including sites for lodging, hiking, and local services. This directory is part of a broader Hocking Hills network designed to help visitors and event planners find what they need without sifting through fragmented, outdated, or pay-to-play sources.
