A few things that apply across the board:
Book early for fall. October foliage is the single busiest period. If you want a Saturday in October, you're competing with every other couple who saw the same Instagram photo. Book 12–18 months ahead for peak fall dates.
Ask about full-property buyouts. Most venues with on-site lodging offer (or require) a buyout for the entire weekend. This is usually the best deal and ensures your guests aren't sharing the property with strangers.
State park ceremonies are separate. If you want to get married at Old Man's Cave or Ash Cave, you need an ODNR Special Activity Permit ($40 processing fee) from the park office, not from any venue. The park stays open during ceremonies. See our elopement guide for details.
